The first public appearance of JCB’s new 13 to 16-tonne X Series excavators will be at Plantworx 2019

The new excavator has been purpose built for ground working specialists.

Joining the 210X and 220X models launched last year, the new 131X, 140X and 150X feature the JCB X Series characteristics of robust durable design, increased productivity and improved operator comfort and ease of use. The new excavators will be joined by the 19C-1E electric mini excavator.

Key features of the new 131X, 140X and 150X include: a wider operator cab for all-shift comfort, in cab noise reductions of up to 68%, modern styling with durable strike points to reduce total ownership cost and increased diameter high-flow pipework to boost efficiency. The two larger models also deliver a 6% improvement in tonnes per litre productivity. In the UK, this class of machine accounts for nearly 60% of all tracked excavators sold.

The new, fully electric 19C-1E mini excavator will allow contractors to work inside buildings and in emissions-sensitive inner-city environments or underground without having to install costly exhaust extraction equipment. It allows for a zero-emission operation at point of use, with no tethers or unsafe trailing electrical cables. Utilising modern automotive battery technology, the 19C-1E will deliver all of the performance of a conventional diesel-powered 1.9-tonne mini excavator with a reduction of both internal and external noise levels. Contractors will also be able to work after normal hours in urban streets, without disturbing residents, as well as operating in other noise sensitive environments including near hospitals and schools.
