Road construction products - New K-Series crawler dozers from John Deere

The four new models, all with hydrostatic drive, have been designed for earthmoving and grading applications.

The 550K, 650K, 700K and 750K dozers join the 850K dozer that was launched during 2011. John Deere’s PowerTech 6.8 litre (700K and 750K) or 4.5 litre (550K, 650K) Interim Tier 4 diesel engines have more power than the previous J-Series models. The K-Series machines are heavier, and this, combined with the increased horsepower, results in more productive machines. The engine power ranges of the dozers are 85 hp / 63 kW (550K), 101 hp / 75 kW (650K), 125 hp / 93 kW (700K) and 155 to 165 hp / 116 to 123 kW (750K) at 1,800 rpm.

The dozers can operate on slopes up to 45 degrees while still maintaining adequate oil flow to the various machine systems. The cooling fan is hydraulically cooling and reversible (on the 750K) to blow out debris. This results in reduced fuel consumption and quieter machine operation. John Deere’s V-Cool system isolates the coolers from dust and engine heat, which increases its efficiency and durability.

The hydrostatic transmission on all models provides infinite speed control, power management, live power turns, counter rotation while staying in gear, and dynamic braking. Operator comfort has received focus through aspects such as quieter machine operation, larger access doors, a standard air suspension seat, sound dampening in the cabs, and improved blade visibility.
