Ponsse presented its new Model Series 2015 at FinnMETKO.
The Ponsse Scorpion has marked the beginning of many additional model changes. New engine technology has enabled service intervals to be extended from 600 and 1,200 hours to 900 and 1,800 hours. The machine frame structure has been made more durable, and modifications have been made to the crane models to improve durability and the ease of use. The transmission of all machine models has been upgraded for improved accuracy and efficiency, and better driving ability when crossing difficult obstacles or on steep slopes. The maximum tractive force of the Buffalo, Elk and Wisent has increased. The new model series includes improved positioning of components and service points for ease of maintenance.
The Ponsse ActiveFrame is a new cabin suspension system for eight-wheeled forwarders. Its structure suspends any sideways movement directed at the driver, making driving more comfortable. The reduced fatigue results in the operator maintaining high productivity levels for longer. The operator can also use higher speeds, particularly when driving unladen. Working with the crane will also improve as the system keeps the cabin horizontal even on rough terrain. ActiveFrame is available for Ponsse Buffalo forwarders.
Ponsse Model Series 2015 machines will be powered by EU Stage IV emission level compliant Mercedes-Benz/MTU engines. This new engine technology improves the power and torque of all engine models and improves responsiveness to loads. The four-cylinder models are particularly more powerful, with engine power increasing to 150 kW (2014 hp) from 129 kW (175 hp). Source: www.ponsse.com
