Ponsse introduces a harvester head range for a new tree size class

The range has been designed for North American harvesting conditions.

The Ponsse H10 and H8 were introduced at the Oregon Logging Conference in the USA. The H10 is intended to open up a new market area for Ponsse. It is a heavy-duty processing and harvesting head for tracked carriers weighing over 25 tonnes. The head weighs 2,600 kg (5,732 lb) without the rotor and has a maximum opening of 83 cm (32.7 in). Testing of the H10 took place in the USA. Ponsse indicates that the head has a “durable body structure, good grip and powerful feeding ensuring good productivity and a long service life”. Ponsse’s Opti control system is used for tree optimisation. The H8 head has a top saw, and is designed for harvesting and processing difficult deciduous trees and conifer species in North America. It weighs 1,250 kg (2,756 lb) and has a maximum opening of 74 cm (29.1 in). The table below provides additional technical specifications for the two heads.
