Nisula increases its focus on the conversion of excavators for forestry work

Nisula have developed a new partnership with Volvo Construction Equipment.

Excavators continue to be one of the world’s most common base machines for harvester heads. Nisula harvester heads have been installed on 5 to 18 ton excavators worldwide. Nisula can now provide an equipment package that converts the excavator into a harvester. Nisula also provide a suitable control system and the control switches and the wire harness needed for the head. As the result of collaboration with PKP Flex Oy, Häggblom Oy and Volvo Construction Equipment Oy Finland, Nisula can offer a unique forestry equipment package for Volvo ECR145E excavators.

Rough terrain has always posed a challenge to construction excavators. The rigid undercarriage impairs ergonomics, productivity and travel properties and thereby their work efficiency. The new Volvo ECR145E equipped with the Nisula Flex-14 multi-purpose undercarriage improves terrain handling properties. The Nisula Flex-14 is a flexible multi-purpose undercarriage for Volvo. The flexible track solution has automatic track system locking, bent track plates and high ground clearance, which greatly improve terrain capabilities. At the moment, the Volvo ECR145E forestry excavator is only available in certain countries.
