Komatsu Forest will retain the rights to the simulators as well as responsibility for their development. Three new simulators are being developed for harvesters, forwarders and forestry excavators. New Forest Engineering Southern Africa (FESA) coordinator
Simon Ackerman has been appointed as the Research and Programme Coordinator for FESA. He will be based at the ICFR offices in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

The new excavators in the C-Series are the CX130C and CX160C. They are Tier 4 interim compliant and show fuel savings over the previous models of between 5 and 8%. Bell returns to US market with new dealer network
A joint venture between Bell and several US construction investors has resulted in the creation of Bell Trucks America (BTA). The range of articulated trucks that will be available include its four largest dump trucks: the B35D, B40D, B45D and B50D. BTA will be based out of Houston. Freightliner offers one piece skid plate option for log trucks operating in difficult conditions
Logging trucks that travel in mud or over obstacles need skid plate protection for the undercarriage of the truck. The Freightliner Coronado 122D skid plate protects the underside of the truck from the front bumper right up to the front axle.
