Tigercat appoints a new product support representative for British Columbia

Mark Tourand is the new appointment and will be primarily involved with product support for Tigercat’s extensive customer base in western Canada. Based in Merritt, British Columbia, Mark has been involved in the equipment industry for over 25 years, previously working as a heavy-duty equipment technician in the manufacturing industry. Mark also has experience in the forestry and mining sectors. Mark has strong technical knowledge related to diesel engines and electronic systems with professional training in power generation and diesel electric systems. Mark also has his Red Seal certification as a heavy-duty equipment technician. Source

Ponsse and Sotreq sign a cooperation agreement on the sale, service and marketing of PONSSE harvester heads in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil

Ponsse indicate that Minas Gerais is a key forestry area in Brazil, and they wish to offer better services to their customers operating in the area. This cooperation supports their objective of being a strong player in Brazil’s harvester head market. Sotreq have been serving forestry customers in MG for over 75 years with tracked forest machines. Sotreq has a total of four service centres in the Minas Gerais region. Source

Cummins announces the acquisition of an electric and hybrid powertrain provider

Cummins announced that it is acquiring Silicon Valley-based Efficient Drivetrains, Inc. (EDI), which designs and produces hybrid and fully-electric power solutions for commercial markets. Adding EDI to the Cummins portfolio is the latest step forward in Cummins’ efforts to become a global electrified power leader. Source

Changes in Eco Log sales organisation

Mikko Laurila leaves his position as Sales Area Manager for Eco Log. Eco Log welcomes Niclas Eklind as the new Sales Area Manager. Niclas will be responsible for Eastern European and North American markets as Mikko Laurila leaves this position. Mikael Frimodig, former instructor for Eco Log, joined the sales team as Sales Area Manager earlier this year and will be our representative for the Central European and Scandinavian markets. Source
