John Deere adds grade guidance technology to the 210G LC excavator along with other customer-inspired updates
The changes are applicable to the 13 to 47 ton models. The grade guidance system provides operators with information on the bucket’s location with respect to a 2D reference or 3D design surface and is ideal for digging trenches for pipe, shaping ditches or slopes, or digging structure foundations. North Carolina logger wins the Loader Championship sponsored by Caterpillar Forest Products
At the East Coast Logging and Equipment Exposition in Richmond, Virginia, less than one second separated the top three winners at the biennial trade show, also known as the Richmond Expo. Roy Reinford of Pink Hill, N.C., won first place. The Loader Championship sponsored by Caterpillar Forest Products was first introduced as the Prentice™ Loader Championship at the sawmill and logging show in Richmond in 1972. Contestants demonstrate their skill with a knuckleboom log loader by picking up and moving blocks between two checkerboards to determine who is the fastest.
Ponsse opens a new service centre in Värnamo, southern Sweden
Värnamo is Ponsse’s fifth service centre in Sweden, and the southernmost of them. With the growing numbers of machines, the need for services has increased in the area and there has been demand for new premises. Over the past couple of years, Ponsse has opened three new Ponsse service centres in Sweden. Ponsse AB starts offering services in Värnamo with three employees and a service vehicle. The unit’s operations are under the responsibility of Johan Andersson, who transferred to Ponsse from Norwegian, where he worked as a service supervisor. In addition to five Ponsse service centres, Ponsse has 20 contractual service providers in Sweden, serving a machine base of approximately 600 Ponsse forest machines. Source
Deere Launches their 2022 Sustainability Goals
The commitments focus on five key areas. Occupational safety involves achieving safety excellence through increased focus on leading indicators, risk reduction, health & safety management systems, and prevention. Secondly is Reducing GHG emissions by 15 percent through 50 percent renewable electricity supply and excellence in energy efficiency. Thirdly is implementing water best management practices in 100 percent of water-scarce manufacturing locations. Fourth is recycling 85 percent of total waste. Finally is increasing the use of sustainable materials by growing remanufactured and rebuild sales by 30 percent and by increasing recyclable, renewable, and recycled content. Source
