Celebrating 50 years since Ponsse Dino forwarder was created

Dino, a load-carrying forwarder, was created in the summer of 1969, based on an idea by Einari Vidgrén. Machine entrepreneur Einari Vidgrén was getting frustrated with problems caused by poor-quality forest machines. He decided to produce a machine that would last for more than just a couple of weeks without problems and repairs. His goal was to create the “Mercedes Benz of forest machines”. Through hard work, enduring entrepreneurship and a strong belief in the performance capacities of their proprietary machine, the company began to build an industrial hall opposite local blacksmith’s workshop. JCB announces a $25 million investment in its Brazilian operations

Sorocaba, São Paulo has been the home to JCB’s Brazilian production operations since 2001. In 2012 the company invested $100 million in a new factory in the city, which was opened by Prime Minister David Cameron.  The latest $ 25 million investment will see the launch of new products for Brazil and neighbouring South American markets. JCB unveils their new CT160 and CT260 tandem vibratory rollers

Both rollers come in two drum sizes, with the CT160 offered in 800 mm (31.5 in) and 1,000 mm (39.4 in) drum widths and the CT260 available in 1,000 mm (39.4 in) and 1,200 mm (47.2 in) widths. Built for both asphalt and base layer compaction, the rollers feature a completely new hourglass design, that delivers excellent visibility to both sides of the drums. The articulated chassis also offers access to the driver’s seat from either side, with integrated grab handles and an obstruction-free floor providing plenty of space for taller operators. The spacious operator platform is isolated using anti-vibration mounts, for improved comfort. Source
