Cat releases new branding for their product identity

Cat® machines, engines, generator sets and work tools will soon have a new look. Caterpillar is replacing the current “Power Edge” trade dress (Cat trademark on a black background accented with a diagonal red bar) with a fresh new graphic design called “Cat Modern Hex.” The Cat Modern Hex design combines the traditional Cat trademark and product model names with a bold, three-dimensional red hexagon and grille pattern. The red color is a throwback to the graphics used on the company’s very first crawler tractors in 1925. Source

Ponsse shows positive third quarter results

During the third quarter, Ponsse’s order intake reached a new record. Demand for machines was up, increasing their order books to EUR 281.6 (154.2) million. Demand remained high in nearly all of their market areas. Net sales were regionally distributed as follows: Northern Europe 39.3 (40.0) per cent, Central and Southern Europe 21.2 (19.1) per cent, Russia and Asia 19.5 (17.7) per cent, North and South America 19.4 (22.6) per cent and other countries 0.6 (0.6) per cent. The Group's euro-denominated operating profit is expected to be at the same level in 2018 as it was in 2017. Source

Change in the Board of Directors of Rottne Industri

Lars Fredin has asked to leave the board on account of a new position. Conny Persson, Director Supply Operations at Konecrane AB in Markaryd (Sweden) and Lars Lennartsson, business advisor in Växjö (Sweden), were appointed to the Rottne board instead. Source 

Cummins and Isuzu sign Letter of Intent to evaluate partnership opportunities

Cummins and Isuzu Motors Limited announced today that they have signed a Letter of Intent to jointly evaluate opportunities to deliver globally competitive products. Each company has committed to assign a team of individuals over the next few months to explore potential opportunities in product technology development, service and other areas of collaboration with the potential for a longer-term partnership for the next generation of diesel and natural gas based internal combustion powertrains as well as new powertrain technologies such as electrification. Diesel engines will continue to be the power leader for the foreseeable future in commercial vehicle and off-highway markets. A long-term partnership would enable both companies to grow globally.
