New products galore from Morbark

Morbark has introduced a new horizontal grinder, a biomass micro-chipper and new inserts for its industrial grinders.

Morbark have been hard at work improving their products and releasing new products onto the market. The 40/36 whole-tree micro-chipper has been redesigned for the pellet mill market. This drum chipper was first introduced in 1998 as a compact, affordable and productive chipper. The latest model has an enhanced drum set with 16 knives that have an operator friendly slide-in forestry grate system to reduce oversize chips, and a mechanically driven chip accelerator to fully load chip vans. Morbark claims that the chipper can produce 95 to 98 % acceptable chips while producing more than 70 tons of chips per hour.

A new mid-range (400 to 600 hp / 290 to 440 kW) horizontal grinder, the 3200 Wood Hog, has been introduced for wood and green waste recycling applications. It can also handle sawmill residue, pallets and logs up to 14 in (36 cm) in diameter. One of the main features is the 30 in (76 cm) diameter flywheel that is powered by an internal drive Fairfield torque hub with no chains or sprockets. This provides more torque, more durability and less maintenance. It is available as a tracked unit for mobility or with electric power.

Morbark has launched their new Wearwolf inserts for industrial grinders. The inserts are heat-treated, with knife-like edges on a solid, forged-steel insert blank. This results in material being cut as opposed to beating it into a mulch, allowing material such as frozen wood to be processed. Source: www.morbark.com
