New forest road construction products - Cat D6T, D7E and D8T Dozers

Cat has made significant changes to their trusted track-type tractors.

The focus has been on reduced emissions, higher productivity and lower operating costs, without compromising the proven designs of their predecessors. The Cat C9.3 ACERT engine is used with the D6T (205hp/153kW) and D7E (235hp/175kW), and the Cat C15 ACERT engine with the D8T (310hp/231kW).The engines meet Tier 4 Interim emissions standards.

Some of the new features include ground level service centres which allow access to battery disconnect and engine shut down switches, as well as optional lighting switches, without having to climb onto the machine. The cab is easier to clean, has streamlined dash displays and instruments, and provides more commonality across the tractor line-up.

A hydraulically driven demand fan, new cooling package and electronic engine controls ensure that fuel savings of up to 6% can be achieved. The D7E remains at the forefront of dozer innovation, featuring a diesel/electric drive system, resulting in excellent fuel consumption and productivity. All major components on the D7E are designed to be rebuilt, extending the economic lifetime of the machine. The D8T retains features such as differential steering and a suspended undercarriage for rough terrain.

Cat’s Product Link allows remote monitoring of equipment for improved fleet management. Product Link is integrated into the machine systems, which enables information such as machine hours, fuel consumption and idle time to be transmitted to a web-based application, called VisionLink.

Cat’s Accugrade machine control and guidance system is optional. This helps operators keep to the specified grades, and to reduce the number of passes. Source: www.cat.com
