Initially available in Europe, the eight-wheeled 1270E is now also available in North America.The new wheeled harvester offering made its debut at Elmia 2013. This is an eight-wheeled version of the 1270E six-wheeled machine. It is available with an Interim Tier 4 / Stage IIIB 6090 John Deere PowerTech Plus turbocharged engine. The Tier 2 and Tier 3 engines are still available in certain markets. European customer feedback has indicated that stability and traction on difficult terrain have been improved with the eight-wheeled machine. Besides having more wheels on the ground for increased floatation and traction, the eight-wheeled harvester also has more power, higher ground clearance, and an improved approach angle. The new bogie axle (Duraxle) has customised balancing gear units. It comes with a levelling and rotating cab which further improves operator comfort and steep terrain handling.
