John Deere release their Final Tier 4 excavator models

The new excavators include the 250 G LC, 350 G LC, and 380G LC.

The 250 G LC uses a 188 hp (138 kW) John Deere PowerTech PVS 6.8 litre engine. Both the 350G LC and 380 G LC use a John Deere PowerTech PSS 9.0 litre engine that produce 271 hp (199 kW). The new engine technology is not the only feature of these excavators. Operators do not need to clean the diesel particulate filter (DPF) as this occurs automatically. The filters can operate for up to 15,000 hours before the ash is removed.

It is not only the new emission compliant engines which are new. The new models have a larger hood for engine access, and the nine-pin diagnostics connector has been moved into the cab to reduce diagnostic testing time. Another improvement is the single side ground level fluid filter service, which moves the engine oil, fuel and hydraulic pilot oil filters to ground level on the right side of the machine, and provides a service door for easy access to change the filters.

A grade reference attachment system is available as an option. Mounting brackets are welded to the boom, arm, dog bone, counterweight and mainframe at the factory. This enables easy installation of grade reference systems such as Topcon, Trimble and Leica. New handrails make climbing onto the upper structure safer. An optional lighting package includes a hood light for better visibility in the engine compartment. Source: www.deere.com
