John Deere completes their L-Series Backhoe line-up

The new 710L has a standard John Deere PowerShift transmission for high travel speeds.

The new 710L is built in John Deere’s Dubuque Works, Iowa, manufacturing facility. The 710L has a 5.3 m (17 ft, 3 in) dig depth, which is the largest in the John Deere backhoe product line. It is primarily designed for loading trucks, placing pipes, digging trenches, breaking up concrete or asphalt and moving materials. It is powered by a Final Tier 4 / EU Stage IV 4.5L Deere PowerTech™ Plus engine. It has 13% more net peak horsepower (148 hp / 110 kW) than the previous K-Series model.

The John Deere PowerShift transmission allows travel speeds of up to 23 mi/hr (37 km/h). When selecting the Lift Mode feature, the operator obtains a 10% power boost to the crane, which automatically sets the RPM at 1,400. This maximizes hydraulic pressure for increased boom and attachment performance. A ride control feature lets the front loader hydraulic cylinders act as shock absorbers, making travel smoother over rough terrain. This helps full loads reach their destination and reduces operator fatigue.

The 710L cab has extra legroom, a more comfortable seat, redesigned pilot towers with fingertip electrohydraulic (EH) controls, a multifunction lever on the steering column to control turn signals, wipers and lights, and a multi-language monitor. The canopy is elevated to provide better visibility to the front and rear of the backhoe. Same-side ground-level service points improve daily checks. Source: http://search.deere.com/DDC/en_US/News/
