Doppstadt introduces their new DH 812 LD precision chipper

The DH 812 LD is an innovative truck-mounted chipper.

The enclosed rotor and adjustment qualities of the screening basket and knife improve chip quality. Chip sizes from G30 to G100 can be produced. Another advantage coming with the DH 812 LD is that the machine may be completely operated form the truck cabin. Doppstadt has also removed a widespread obstacle to proper machine operation, as the optionally available telescopic ejector enables the material to be delivered onto trucks positioned in front of the chipper, thereby ensuring a transport route of the wood chips in the direction of traffic, which is a significant upgrade in terms of road safety, especially when working near busy roads.

With regard to driving comfort, the DH 812 has panorama glazing made by Doppstadt which allows for good visibility towards all sides, with the chipper infeed being in full view after the cabin corner posts have been removed. The chipping unit is equivalent to the PTO shaft as used in the DH 812 version. By selecting the suitable screen basket, the chip size can be seamlessly adjusted from G30 to G100.

The rear window of the truck allows unrestricted sight of both the crane and feeder. The drivetrain requires only modest motor power and works very quietly. A closed rotor and the good adjustment of the screen basket and blade improve the production of the chipper without sacrificing quality. The chipper rotates at 500 rpm. A transverse in-feed system running backwards and forwards transports the wood to a float-mounted feeding roller. The full-steel chipping drum is fitted onto solid steel frames, while the special arrangement of the chippings knives makes the DH 812 LD run with the minimum amount of vibration and ensures perfectly shaped chips from all types of wood.

The DH 812 LD can process waste wood, wood slabs, log and preshredded root timber to different sizes of wood chips. The machines can handle trunk diameters up to 800 mm (31 in). Source
