Both new models make use of New Holland’s Selective Catalytic Control (SCR) technology, which optimises combustion to deliver an extra 11 kW (15 hp) of power compared to the B Series models. This results in 10% higher machine productivity. This also allows the C Series machines to meet EU Stage 3B emissions regulations. The hydraulic system has been redesigned to improve hydraulic efficiencies, which together with the SRC technology can result in fuel savings of up to 10%.
Both the E215C and E245C have longer service intervals than previous models, and much focus has been placed on easy service access. Due to the emission reduction technology employed, there is no diesel particulate filter to service, and the after-treatment additive required to remove NOx only needs to be refilled every four refuelling stops. A side-by-side radiator layout improves cooling performance and is easier to clean.
Operator visibility from the cab has been improved through a full-size right side window and rear view camera and monitor that allow the operator to view the rear of the machine while still concentrating on the attachment, the work area and the cab displays. The ROPS and FOPS have narrow-shaped pillars that further improve visibility. New dampers, together with the SRC technology, can reduce vibration levels by 30% when travelling and 50% when digging. Key specifications are included in the table below.
