New Products - Peterson 4800F chain flail debarker

The popular Peterson 4800F chain flail debarker contains a host of new features that will appeal to customers.

Like its 4800E predecessor, the 4800F remains a side-fed, two flail debarker. It is designed to remove bark to meet the chip quality requirements of pulp and paper producers. It has a new 265 kW (350 hp) CAT C9 Tier 4 engine, upper and lower flail drives, direct drive lower in-feed and out-feed rollers, floating direct drive upper feed rolls, a 1.5 m (5 ft) wide bark pusher, and Petersons IQAN control system. The Peterson can also be fitted with a lower Tier engine for certain export markets. The 4800F is designed to be able to run for a full shift without refuelling. To achieve this, it has a 662 litre (175 gal) fuel tank and a 511 litre (135 gal) hydraulic oil tank.

The 4800F can easily be moved between work sites. It has a retractable gooseneck and is highway legal. The four fixed landing gears have floating pads, which allows the operating height to be easily adjusted and the debarker to be stable when working. The operator can remotely operate the 4800F with a wireless remote. This remote can also pair with the Peterson 5900 disc chipper, if the two machines are operated in tandem. The key specifications for the 4800F can be seen in the table below.
