Kesla release their new cabin for truck cranes and wood chippers

The ProCAB XL is more spacious and has a lower mass than previous models.

The new cab is larger in size than it is predecessor, providing more space for the operator. The floor of the cabin is now even, which provides for more leg and foot room, and makes it easier to clean. Even though the cabin is larger, the rotation radius is smaller than before due to the integrated lifting unit. The new cabin weighs more than 30% less than the previous model. The control placement has also been improved. The controls are now within an arm’s reach, and the display of the optional control system has been situated in a more ergonomic position. Less used switches, such as those used only at the beginning and the end of the shift, are now located in the ceiling.

There is 45% more window area than before and only the back wall of the cabin is solid. Even the windscreen wipers have been improved to increase the wiping area. The air-conditioning and filtering system has been moved from the roof of the cabin, which was found to be too dusty during chipping, to a dust-free space in the cabins lower structure.

Soundproofing of the cab has been improved, which is particularly important for noisy chipping operations. 10 mm (0.4 in) polycarbonate is standard to assist in this regard. Source: http://www.kesla.fi/en/home
