Eco Log introduces a new payload control system for their forwarders

Daily production control measurement is made easier with the new Eco Log Weight Control (EWC) system.

The EWC system has been designed to help prevent overloading and to monitor daily production. Overloading a forwarder is not only dangerous, but increases maintenance costs. The system consists of two sensors fitted in metal capsules secured to the rear bogie cases. The sensor sends a signal to the forwarders computer screen to indicate the load weight. The signal is transmitted via a cable inserted in a hydraulic hose. The hose is covered by a number of protective devices to prevent damage to the cable. The sensor consists of few parts which will reduce maintenance requirements. The forwarder must be stationary when the weight is measured.

Even though weighing systems that can be fitted to the forwarder crane are currently available, the bogie sensor option has fewer moving parts and does not affect the crane. The EWC system can measure to within five per cent accuracy. Source: http://www.eco-log.se/
