Bandit announces their new Beast horizontal grinders

Thirty five new enhancements and features have been made to the XP Series of Beast recyclers and grinders.

The 2680XP, 3680XP and 4680XP models now have angled front in-feeds with larger in-feed drive chains. The machines feature a new rail system on the return side of the in-feed (replacing the roller system), which reduces the load on the tail shaft. They also have a new “Big Mouth” option that increases the height of the opening into the mill. Also optional is an extra-large 81 cm (32 in) diameter feed wheel that includes a brush deflector to direct brush into the machine.

The base door has a larger opening for easy removal of the cuttermill. Replaceable wear plates are now standard on the radiator side (left side) of the mill base. A trap door has now been installed in the auger area and the auger itself has been redesigned and is easier to change. The machines can now be fitted with several new teeth styles. 5.1 cm (2 in) wide sizes are now available for most teeth, which allow a 30-tooth setup. The teeth mounts have been redesigned to be compatible with the knife cutterbodies. This eliminates the need to change cutterbodies when switching between chipping and grinding. A new chipping drum is available for when the machine is operated exclusively as a chipper.

Adjustable pitch fans are now standard for improved cooling and fuel efficiency. Other interesting enhancements include a redesigned fuel tank on the tracked machines for better steep slope handling, an increased fuel capacity on the 1680, the warning lights for the clutch and engine operation are situated for easier monitoring, and the on-board compressors have been repositioned for easier access and operation.
