The Autoshift option uses the fuel efficiency advantage of direct drive and lock-up torque convertor transmissions, and automatically selects the best gear for a specific load. The operator’s right hand can now focus on operating the grapple and pulling the load. The end result is a skidder which is easier to operate, has higher productivity and reduces operator fatigue. The operator should be able to pick up the load quicker and maintain a faster average travel speed. The Autoshift option is available in all cable and grapple skidder models.
